Sure, come on in. But the cheese stays outside.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I'm Sinead and I want to take your picture.

I know, I know. This is supposed to be the part where I tell you about my photo degree (yes, I have one), my awards, (yeah, got those, too) and about how my passion for photography was sparked by the birth of my children. Oh, wait. Hold up. I don't have any children! So let's just keep it real. . .

I do have a passion for photography and it goes back almost as far as I can remember. I love making photographs, I love people, and I am all about having fun. Senior pictures are the ideal photo gig for me.

And how do you get in front of my camera? Simple. Choose your date, call to see if I'm available, and book your session. We'll have a blast, you will look awesome (or should I say sick?), your friends will love your pictures, and your mom will even have a few photos that she can be proud of. (Hey, don't knock it. After all, where would you be without Mom?)

I like to keep things chill and I will never ask you for cheesy poses or fake smiles. I want to see who you are, right here, right now, at this never-to-be-repeated moment in time. In return, I'll give you photographs that you'll be proud to show everyone you know. Easy. Fun. Relaxed. Sound good? Well what are you waiting for? Let's do this!

Loft Girl 2009: Alexis T. | Ann Arbor Senior Portrait Photographer

We are so happy to announce that Alexis T. of Ann Arbor Pioneer High School is our 2009 Loft Girl.

We don’t give the Loft Girl award every year, but the Class of 2009 had several strong candidates. We knew that Alexis would be among them from the moment that we first met her! We love her kindness, her always-cheerful disposition, her helpfulness and her intelligence.
Alexis’s accomplishments are many and we know that her parents and teachers must be very proud indeed.

Here’s just a sampling of what she does in her “free” time:

School:
Awards:
Honor Roll- 2005-2009 (8 semesters)
NAACP Academic Achievement Award (2006-2008)
Ranked top 10% of class for GPA

Activities:
Community:
Key Club (2006-2008)
Hospital Volunteer (2009)
Sunday School Youth Teacher (2006-2009)
NAACP Youth Council of Ann Arbor (2008-2009)

Sports:
Varsity Golf (2005-2008)- 4 Varsity letters; MVP spring/fall 2007, 2008; Co-Captain fall 2007, 2008; In 2008 Team won All-Academics (3.72 GPA); All-Area Team fall/spring 2007, 2008; All-Conference 2006, spring/fall 2007, 2008; All-Conference + Regional first place medalist 2008
Freshmen/JV Basketball (2005-2006)- Core Values Award (only one given each year with all teams considered)
Indoor Track (2007-2008)- 8th place in 4×400 for State Championship

I asked all of the Loft Girl candidates to submit a brief bio and here, in part, is what Alexis wrote:

“Throughout high school I have worked hard academically with hopes of attending a top ranked pre-med school. To work towards this goal, this school year I was chosen as one of fifty seniors at Pioneer to be apart of the Health Sciences Program. Within the program, students work as volunteers at several local clinics and hospitals including the several University of Michigan Hospitals, St. Joseph Hospital, Urgent Care facilities, and at elementary schools as teacher’s assistants. My personal experiences of shadowing plastic surgeons at U of M Hospital as well as the Dermatology Unit and the Eye Clinic at the Veteran’s Hospital were mind-blowing amazing and have encouraged me to pursue one of these fields of medicine. “

In the fall, Alexis will be attending Wayne State as a pre-med student. She has also been signed by a local modeling agency (no surprise there – Alexis was also a finalist in the Senior Portrait Artists’ modeling competition) and we hope to see her in all of our favorite magazines one day soon.

We are pleased to offer Alexis an iTunes card, a gift card to be used at the store of her choice, and her first $100 worth of books at Wayne State.

Alexis, it has truly been a privilege to know and work with you this past year. We wish you every success in the future and we just know that you are destined for great things.

We Have a Winner!!| Ann Arbor Senior Photographer

Hey guys, I’ve been a bad, bad blogger.
But thanks to Grace-Emily from East Detroit High, I’m back.

Last year, I offered $75.00 off the session fee for the first five people who visited the new website and emailed me the names of the galleries. Nobody responded and, frankly, I forgot all about it. But yesterday, Grace-Emily emailed me to ask if anyone ever won. She also emailed me the names of the galleries. So, Grace-Emily, you win! Email me today and claim your prize. I love a girl who pays attention. Can’t wait to meet you!

And for the rest of you slackers, :) yes, the contest is now closed. But don’t worry — I’ll have a new one for you very soon.

Yes. We. Can.

For those of you who are old enough:

DON’T FORGET TO VOTE!!!

Miss C

We had a lot of fun with Miss C’s senior portraits last week. She and her mom drove in from Dexter and we had photo adventure both in and out of the studio. Miss C is a member of the Class of 2009 at Dexter High School. She is on the equestrian team and runs cross country, as well. Hard to believe that she has the time, but she’ll also be doing some modeling for us this year, so you’ll be seeing lots more of her. In the mean time, take a look at her sneak peek. Enjoy!

A Model Opportunity

Loft by Sinead is a proud member of SPA — Senior Portrait Artists. Every year, SPA selects models from around the country to win a trip to the national convention and model for the many fabulous photographers who will be present there.

When you have your senior portraits done at Loft by Sinead, you can also choose to enter the SPA model competition. We would love to have some of you selected to represent Loft by Sinead at the 2009 convention in Las Vegas! If you’re interested, make sure to book your appointment right away. We have to submit your pictures to SPA by the 30th of September. And guys, this is not just for the ladies!

Good Luck!

Meet Mr. M

Mr. M’s mom called me about his senior portraits last year. After so much anticipation, I can’t believe the session is already over! We had a great time with M., who is a member of the Class of 2009 at Ann Arbor Huron. Here’s a sneak peek from his session:

OMG, They’re Back!

I totally hate that I watch this, but I can’t help it! What do you think? Love? Hate? Don’t care? The comment box is open!

The Loft is Live!!!

OK, guys: our brand new, gorgeous website is live!
The first five people to visit the site and leave me the names of each image gallery in the comment box below will get $75.00 off of the $250.00 session fee! You have to be a high school senior to comment (so don’t ask mom, your little brother, or the dog to do it for you) and the contest ends when we have five comments.
What are you waiting for???
